As you have heard on the last few episodes, I am taking a break from recording new episodes of the podcast over the course of about 5 weeks during this holiday season and into January. However, you will still get to hear episodes, as I am releasing replays of some of our most popular episodes over the first 90 episodes.
Today, you will hear the #1 most downloaded episode of the show, Episode 46. In it, I spoke with my best friend in the world over the last 55 years, Bob Kuykendall. Bob has taught and coached at Carmel Catholic High School in Mundelein, Illinois for 40 years. We taught and coached together for 11 years at Carmel, starting when we were fresh out of college in 1982. I moved west in 1993, but Bob stayed on and has been a fixture at Carmel ever since.
His quote is one that he has used with his wrestling teams throughout his entire career, as well as using it in his English classroom. It is a great quote by Walt Whitman, made famous in the movie "Dead Poet's Society."
