Ep. 64 - Wooden - Pyramid - Skill
Show Notes

Today we continue the series discussing quotes in support of the building blocks of John Wooden's "Pyramid of Success." We are into block #11, and it's the second block on the third tier of the pyramid. This one is devoted to the characteristic of Skill.

Wooden said the third tier is the "heart" of the Pyramid. While he certainly could have meant that it is right in the middle, I get the feeling that he also meant that these three blocks - Condition, Skill, and Team Spirit - are essential to people sustaining their success, just like your heart is essential to you staying alive.

Well, this block is the middle block of this tier, so in many ways, it is the actual heart of the pyramid. I find it interesting that he would consider something focused in so many ways on the physical to be the heart of they pyramid. However, when you hear today's episode, you'll hear some ideas as to how he may have come to that notion.

You will hear five quotes in today's episode. They are from a variety of sources and they get at the heart (pun intended) of what Wooden was trying to get across when it comes to the importance of skill to becoming your best.
