Ep. 21 - Integrity #5 - Covey - Moral Authority
Show Notes

Today's episode is the 5th episode in the short series I am doing on Integrity. Today's quote comes to us from educator, author, and self-help guru, Stephen Covey. "Moral authority comes from following universal and timeless principles like honesty, integrity, treating people with respect." There are a couple of key messages in this quote that I unpack in the episode. If you are a coach, teacher, parent, leader of young people, you are looked at as an authority figure. You will also espouse messages and ideas from a standpoint of some sort of moral base. But notice the word "following" in the quote. It's not just about teaching these important elements; it's about living them!

**Full Disclosure** In the episode, I mentioned that these quotes come from my gift booklet called, "Senior Salute," that I wrote for coaches to give to their senior athletes on their Senior Nights or at their end-of-season banquets. I will follow Covey's advice here and be honest with you and tell you that three of the six quotes in the series are in the original version of the book. This one and three others will be part of the new, updated, and expanded version of the book that will be coming out this fall. I am doubling the number of quotes in each chapter of the book to make it even more motivational and inspirational. I will be selling it on Amazon as well as on my website. It should be out by October.
