Great Quotes for Coaches Podcast
Continuous Improvement
Today we continue with the new series of quotes on "Perfectionism" that I started last week. As I said last week, I'm sure I have touched on the concept of perfectionism at times in different episodes of the podcast, but I don't recall ever devoting any specific episodes to the idea of perfectionism.
This is a great topic for coaches because we all deal with "perfectionist athletes" at points in our careers, and for most of us we deal with them every season. The quotes that I will be discussing will get at the heart of perfectionism, why it can be crippling to performance, and what we can/should do about it to keep it from destroying our ability to grow and develop the best that we can.
Today's quote comes to us from one of the all-time great American authors. It is also a quote that you have probably heard before. But as is so often the case, even if you've heard it, there is always something more you can learn from it or some new way to look at it, and today's quote is no exception to that.
